The Amusement Park in Entrecampos was opened on June 24, 1961.
The General Livestock Market took place there since 1952. Built by a private company (Pereira de Lima and António Vitor Reis e Sousa) with the agreement of Lisbon Municipality, the market was designed by the architect Parente da Silva and was later modified by Machado Faria e Melo. Even today you can see some of its buildings on site, accommodations for a thousand oxen, two thousand sheep and goats, five hundred pigs and two hundred horses.
Besides the family visits and children's delights, the Amusement Park was traditionally a meeting place for thousands of students at the end of the school year.
